Eligibility & Instructions for AAFH’s Geneva High School Art & Music Scholarships

APPLICATION DEADLINE - MARCH 31, 2024

Our mission is to provide children and young adult patients being treated for cancer and other life-threatening illnesses with the opportunity to express their creative abilities through music and art. In 2022, we introduced the Scholarship Program available solely to Seniors at the Geneva High School.

Alyssa Alvin was a 2009 graduate of Geneva High School. Alyssa was an outstanding young woman who beautifully expressed her artistic soul through music and art. As part of her legacy, the Alyssa Alvin Foundation for Hope will award four $2,000 scholarships to qualifying Geneva High School graduates accepted at a college or university. The scholarships are for graduates intending to pursue degrees in the fields of MUSIC and/or ART.

All Scholarship winners need to provide the following within 10 business days of being awarded a scholarship:

1. Financial contact for the institution the winner will be attending

2. Student identification number

3. College/University financial aid address & phone number

PREREQUISITES: Geneva High School students who have overcome major challenges in their lives to forge ahead and excel in school. These are not necessarily top honors students or consistent high achievers. These students have faced financial, physical, or emotional challenges to reach their academic goals.

APPLICATION SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS:
A summary of your involvement in music or art including any honors or awards received.
An unofficial transcript based on 7 semesters of coursework.
Minimum of one recommendation letter from a teacher who can speak to your abilities in your intended field of study.
