Lupe Diaz while on vacation in Florida, assembled 100 Alyssa Starter Art Kits (SAKs) at the Alvin residence in Lakewood Ranch. Lupe has previously attended Alyssa Alvin Foundation for Hope fundraising events and wanted to get more involved and volunteer. Five years ago, Lupe learned of Alyssa’s foundation through her brother, Jorge, who has volunteered and participated in fundraising events.

On Thursday, March 9, 2023, Lupe assembled a variety of professional art kits which included watercolor and acrylic paint kits, nature coloring books and journal kits.

All our volunteers believe in the healing power of art and are happy to prepare the Alyssa Starter Art Kits (SAKs) which will be delivered to teens and young adults going through their own medical journey. On this particular day, the kits being prepared by Lupe will be going to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House East in St. Petersburg, Florida.

AAFH thanks Lupe for her time and commitment to keep Alyssa’s legacy of helping other young patients with life-threatening illnesses.
